From the Desk of Jim House To: Our Past, Current and Prospective Advertisers It’s time! I know it seems some of the loyal advertisers have just received the latest Blue Book, but planning for the 2007 Blue Book is now underway. I am very excited about working with you in my new capacity as the Public Relations and Resource Development Officer at Telecommunications for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, Inc. Ever since we played a role in putting TTYs in many homes across the country, TDI has a distinguished history of advocating and promoting telecommunications access for the deaf, hard of hearing, late-deafened and deaf-blind communities for over 30 years. The TDI National Directory and Resource Guide has adapted over the years and continues to serve as an important resource for our constituents and their allies ever since it was first published in 1968. In the 21st Century, online and in print, the “Blue Book” remains a comprehensive source for information on products and services for people with hearing disabilities. Together, we make a difference in the lives of people who are deaf or hard of hearing. We do this by providing a complete up-to-date resource guide with your vital products and services prominently featured within. With more than 30,000 listings of households and “deaf-friendly” businesses, organizations and agencies, the Blue Book is what over 200,000 consumers turn to when they are in need of information, products or services. TDI’s quarterly publication, The GA-SK news magazine is the premier source of up-to-date information on current and developing issues in telecommunications, accessible technology and the media that affect you and your consumers. Approximately 40,000 chief executive officers, regulators and consumers read The GA-SK to stay abreast of emerging trends. TDI-Online will soon break new ground in online advertising online at TDI’s website - www.TDI-Online.org. Details are still being ironed out, but we plan to reward our print advertising with the golden opportunity to make their presence felt in cyberspace as well as in print. Watch for announcements soon about this feature and other TDI advertising opportunities. TDI works with industry decision-makers on policy issues and our publications help educate them on the accessibility issues faced by our constituents. We invite you to begin or continue a fruitful partnership with TDI as we help shape the future of information technologies. Sincerely yours, James D. House |
