e-Blue Book - Coming
Soon
TDI is pleased to announce the development of an electronic Blue Book. In response to many requests from our members and subscribers, TDI is now in the preliminary stages of making the its popular Blue Book available online and/or on a CD-ROM. There are many decisions that we need to make and we need to hear from our members and subscribers what they would like to see in the electronic Blue Book. Such decisions include: level of access, password protection and other things. Please send your comments to this e-mail address at
eBlueBook@tdi-online.org. Meanwhile, watch for future announcements about the e-Blue Book in the GA-SK and
TDI-L eNotes.
Calling all Web Designers for the e-Blue Book
TDI will soon issue a Request for Proposals (RFP) for Web designers and database developers for the e-Blue Book project. If you are interested, or know someone who is interested, please send name and e-mail address to
eBlueBook@tdi-online.org and we will be sure to send an RFP to everyone who responds when it is complete.
New GA-SK on the Disability Rights Office at FCC
TDI members and subscribers will soon be receiving the latest GA-SK, Volume 32, Issue 4. The theme for this issue is the Partnership Profile on the Disability Rights Office
(DRO) in the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). In this GA-SK, TDI informs the readers of the changes in DRO under the administration of FCC Chairman Michael K. Powell. The readers will learn the different methods that DRO uses to gather input from citizens with disabilities and how the office uses this information to develop and
enforce FCC regulations. Also, the readers will meet the staff and learn how to participate in the rulemaking process.

NAD/Hofstra University Survey
NAD and Hofstra University are surveying deaf and hard of hearing Americans, seeking to learn how people are communicating - and if these ways of communicating have changed over the past few years.
TDI, in the spirit of collaboration is encouraging TDI-L eNote subscribers to participate in this survey.
Hofstra University claims that it is very easy to participate in this study. Hofstra recently acquired new software that allows people to visit a URL, answer
questions, and just click to submit their answers. No postage, no paper. This software automatically keeps the identity of respondents confidential and calculates the responses given so far. There is no way anyone can find out who responded and the answers are completely
confidential.
